Yesterday, i ordered an item online but the company only accepts Paypal payments. I checked my paypal account and found out that my funds are insufficient so I wanted to add funds to my paypal account to fully pay the order. I called Paypal customer service and spoke to a fellow Filipina about how to do that since the “Add Funds” link on my Paypal Overview menu is not allowing me to do so and I did not find any article about the process of transferring funds from bank account to paypal account online. She said that as of now:
Adding funds from a Philippine bank account to a Paypal account is not allowed but if there is an existing credit card/bank enrolled in the Paypal account, Paypal will just automatically charge the balance amount to your credit card once your paypal funds become insufficient/has zero amount ($0.00).
So basically, when Paypal funds = $0.00, there is no need to transfer funds from bank account to Paypal since Paypal will just deduct the balance of the payment you sent to the merchant (with the applied conversion fees if you are paying in foreign currency) from your enrolled debit/credit card account. The customer service representative was indeed helpful and now I’d like to share this info to those who have doubts or are clueless about the process.
After sending payment through paypal, you should be able to view the transaction details like the one below:
